Celebrations to come
Feb. 8th, 2008 01:44 pmAttempting to make up for lost billable time is hardly the sort of thing that I’d usually go on for but since I did take a rather long break over the holidays it seemed like something that I probably ought to do. It’s producing some interesting results at any rate, such as being in the office long before anybody else arrives and discovering that no matter what time I do arrive, Croquet is always already there. This morning he's left a post-it note and a VCD on my desk announcing that I ought to plan time off for Thingyan, that is, the Burmese Water Festival and start of the New Year. Even though we’ve only just had Chinese New Year. He does seem to have something of a knack for discovering this sort of thing and from the VCD footage I’m presuming that the reason he’d like me out of the office for that observance may well be because it would otherwise be an excuse to bring a water-pistol in to work.
At least being here so early has meant that I could phone my father while he was having lunch today. Apparently he’s celebrating 420 this year, because he’s already missed the Camel Wrestling Championships.
