The trouble with eclipses
Feb. 26th, 2008 05:13 pmWell that was interesting. I’ve never quite believed that eclipses could really cause so much trouble before but Friday in particular has disabused me of that notion. Never anything serious of course but little calamities all over the place ranging from repeatedly knocking a pencil off my desk to a completely unforeseen and inexplicable traffic jam on the way home. It almost felt as if my luck, such as it is had suddenly been thrown out of balance and was fluctuating wildly. I reached for my cards and the phone at least three times on Friday evening and each time it was almost a static sort of crackle along my senses that drove me to leave both alone.
I did of course make the requisite phonecall earlier today almost as soon as I arrived this morning, which equated to 12:45 GMT, only to discover that by Wednesday evening Radu had already burnt his hand while making coffee and wouldn’t have been able to deal the cards anyway. This was, at least so he maintains, his own fault for attempting to carry on with readings during a time of obvious flux but that seems quite an overtly severe way of making him stop. I do hope he recovers soon.
I suspect that I really ought to be glad that my only troubles were knocking things over when I got home and not being able to find anything to watch on TV.
